First "Test Tube Baby" Turns 40


Wow, cannot believe the 1st "test tube baby" is almost 40 years old!

Mary Louise Brown was born in 1978 in England. The 2nd baby born to this technology was in the USA just a year later.

Since then, there are over 1 million children in the USA conceived with IVF. As a specialty, ART (assisted reproductive technology) has progressed light years and we are just at the beginning.

It's been very exciting to have started in the specialty since 1991 when there were only a few thousand babies born through ART.
