Timed Intercourse

Timed Intercourse (TI) is a natural fertility treatment. It is the least invasive and least expensive fertility treatment, as it does not require medications, nor does it involve a procedure of any kind. Low intervention fertility treatment is considered when infertility is unexplained or menstrual cycles are irregular or absent.

During a Timed Intercourse treatment cycle, we monitor a woman’s hormone levels, uterine conditions and follicle development (egg release) in order to tell when just the right moment is for her to have intercourse with her partner in the hopes of becoming pregnant.

Types of Fertility Treatments:

  1. Relations (Intercourse)

  2. Artificial Insemination

    • Also known as Intrauterine Insemination (IUI)

  3. In Vitro Fertilization

    • Egg is fertilized by sperm in a sterile environment inside our lab

    • fertilized eggs are incubated , possibly genetically tested

    • healthiest

    • Cost: Highest (unless patient has IVF insurance coverage)

During your initial consultation with Dr Morgan, you will want to express your interest in natural fertility treatment. He will order a few basic fertility tests in order to discern whether you are ovulating normally, proper uterine conditions exist, and your partners sperm are capable of fertilizing your egg.

If a woman has a menstrual cycle every month, then she has a 99% chance she is releasing her egg each month (ovulation). In order to evaluate the anatomy of the female, a  pelvic sonogram is performed to make sure the uterus and ovaries are normal in size and shape.

To evaluate the fallopian tubes, a hysterosalpingogram (HSG) is done to see if the tubes are open.

Additionally, the male will provide a semen sample to evaluate sperm count, motility, and morphology (shape).

Blood testing called the Prenatal Blood Profile will test for thyroid issues, blood count, liver and kidney function, infectious disease exposure, and genetic conditions which a patient may be a carrier for such as cystic fibrosis, Fragile X syndrome, and SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy).
